Ban Alcohol, Sugar, Cigarettes, Cars, Pets, Medicine, Food, ETC.!

Let's just ban it all and get it over with.  Any thing we do can offend someone, hurt someone, kill someone, pollute in one way or another, ruin health, ruin family, and all of the other reasons the ban lovers use to stop anything they can.

Don't worry about the illegal things we have already.  Don't even try to control that.  Let's see our police arresting anyone that smokes a cigarette, eats sugar, drinks alcohol, uses legal prescriptions,  in fact let's ban everything that's legal now.   Seems there is a drive on to legalize pot so I suppose the nasty cigarette smokers can change over to pot when it becomes legal so they can fry their brain.

ANY THING can kill and be abused.  ANY THING can affect those around you.  It can offend, smell bad, pollute, change personalities, brain cells, health, some of them even cause people to have loose morals. ANY THING, in excess, can hurt people, family, community, and world.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Work on what's already broken!

So, you don't smoke--let them stop it, you don't drink--let them stop it, you don't hunt--let them ban guns, you don't eat too much--however much that is--sugar or food so, let them stop that, you don't bag lunches, let them stop that, you don't have pets to cause allergies, so--let them stop that.  You don't wear perfume, so let them stop that, you don't drive, so let them regulate that to death, you don't take medicine, so let them stop writing rx's, you don't use health food herbs, so--let them stop that. You aren't religious, ban it.  The list goes on and on.  You DO use or enjoy something and they (the people determined to ban things that they don't do) will get to that, too.  If we don't care about the rights of other people--for them to KEEP the right of what's been legal and worked for years--then--they won't feel too bad when what you feel is important is taken away, too.  Don't you think all of this reverse discrimination, disguised under someone's rights but takes away your rights is a bit backwards?? Oh, well!  I'm just saying.

Sports and Politics

I don't resent everyone that doesn't support my choice in sports or politics.

I'm an avid LSU and New Orleans Saints fan. I REALLY want them to win, every time!   It wouldn't be much to the game if there were no opposition and no fans for the opposing side.

As far as I'm concerned, politics is the same.  I support the candidate of my choice, VERY STRONGLY, but with respect to the other side. I don't expect every single soul to see everything as I do.

I like to see the candidates be free to express themselves, even if I don't agree with every word out of their mouth.  At least I get to listen, check the facts, and make a choice. Thank God,  I do have a choice.  Just saying! Thanks for your taking the time to read my blog about this.

Easy Chicken, Rice, and Veggies with Mandarins

Uncomplicated, easy meal--just what I like!

2 frozen chicken breasts (sprayed with a little olive oil)
Place on a small oven-proof tray, fleshy part down)
Sprinkle with pepper.  (Add any seasonings of your choice)
Add a few chopped green onions as I did or you may add chopped white onion.
Place tray in Nuwave oven. Set timer for 13 minutes on high.

While chicken is baking, cook rice in rice cooker
 1 cup rice
Add  1/2 to 3/4 cups frozen mixed veggies
Add two cups liquid.  You may use water, broth, or do as I did.  I used one cup apple juice and one cup water. The timer will go off for this amount of rice in about 20 minutes.

The 13 minutes should be up with the chicken.
Turn chicken pieces over.
Sprinkle more green onions on top.
Set timer on Nuwave  for about 15 additional  minutes.

I did not add gravy or butter to the rice.

I opened a can of mandarins and drained them.  I thought that would be a way to get fruit and color!  Enjoy! Photo included of one plate.

I only had to wash one small pan  the chicken was cooked on in the Nuwave, rice cooker, plate and utensils.

Recipes, Cooking, Etc.

OVEN FRIED VEGGIES
I don't claim to be the best cook in the world.  However, I like to experiment in the kitchen and eat healthy.  I recently baked  some sliced veggies and was quite pleased with them.

I sliced eggplant and squash, dipped  them in a beaten egg/water mixture, coated them with seasoned (salt, pepper, etc.) ground up whole wheat cereal, and baked for about fifteen to  twenty minutes. Yummy good and nutritious.  Easy, too.

I used a Nuwave oven but they can be done in a regular oven, if desired. Photo is of one piece of oven fried eggplant.  Tender, nutritious, and easy. Not oily since it is oven fried and not fried in grease.

Challenge: PLUG your ears for a day!

Please accept the challenge to place earplugs in your ears for one day.  During that day, remove all closed captioning and volume to your television or videos that you watch.  I especially want the Media, Networks, Movie industry, local news media, weather reporters, politicians,  and video makers to do this.  This way, you can "walk in the shoes of a deaf or hard-of-hearing person" and see how well you hear the things being said.  Just because a person does not hear well or at all doesn't mean they are stupid or that they don't deserve to "hear" via closed captioning.

I know some television stations close caption the news but do not close caption weather (even emergency warnings), or interviews. The hearing person can hear it and the blind can usually hear it.  The deaf or hard-of-hearing can not!
I realize expense, time, and other things discourage the motivation to invest in closed captioning.  However, the deaf and hard-of-hearing person usually wears hearing aids, tries to read lips, actively listens but it is usually impossible to hear without the closed captioning.  I think you will better understand where I am coming from if you will accept my challenge. Walk in their shoes for a day, please. (and don't cheat)

Thank you for your time reading this and I especially thank you if you do something about this problem!
